COVID-19 Policy & Procedure

We have been working on new safety and hygiene measures so that we can continue to offer our guests the warmest welcome, but in a responsible way, and with their safety and comfort being paramount.

Check-in procedure
We will be greeting and checking in as usual. We have enough space in our ‘reception’ area to be able to implement the all-important one metre plus social distance. However, we will not show you to your room as we do not intend to enter that space for the duration of your stay, unless absolutely essential. We will, of course, still be available if you need anything while you are with us.

Since social distancing has been reduced to 1 metre plus, we feel that we can continue to offer breakfast as part of your stay with us. The only change is that you will be required to choose a time slot, in order to reduce the numbers eating at any one time, and to pre-order your breakfast.

Please note that we cannot allow hot food to be consumed in the guest rooms. This is to prevent spillages, and to stop smells from disturbing other guests. The rooms are not fitted with dining areas or facilities, and are not suitable places to eat. 

Our already high standard of cleaning will be enhanced with:
o Hand sanitiser gel ‘stations’ positioned on all four floors of the guest house
o Regular cleaning of public areas focusing on key surfaces such as door bells and handles, light switches, hand rails, window sills and tables
o All guest rooms and bathrooms will, of course, be thoroughly sanitised between guests
Shared facilities
Two of our rooms share a WC located in the hallway. It will be our priority to clean this WC at very regular intervals throughout the day, along with the various other 'touch points' in the hallway. All other rooms are fully en-suite.

Cancellation policy
We are now operating in an environment where restricted movements, the cancellation of events and lockdowns are more familiar. To that end, we encourage guests to take into account our seven-day cancellation policy which we reserve the right to apply across all bookings, even if you have to self-isolate, or fall ill and are not able to come. We would, of course, offer free cancellations to all affected bookings if we are forced to close.

Group bookings
Unfortunately, due to the size of our guest house, we are currently unable to take group bookings.

We will continue to operate under advice provided by the UK Government, Public Health England and The World Health Organisation whilst looking forward to welcoming you to Starlings Guest House once more.
